Riding with Clipper

Tag your card every time you board.

Note: Clipper is not accepted for rides on the local portion of the Lynx route.

WestCAT accepts the following on a Clipper card:

Cash value: For single rides. You need a cash value balance of at least $1.75 on an adult or Youth Clipper card to board. You need 75 cents on a Senior or RTC Clipper card.
After you spend the daily maximum ($3.75 for adults and youth and $1.75 for seniors and disabled riders) on rides on County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, WestCAT (except Lynx) and Wheels, all rides on those services are free for the rest of the day.
WestCAT 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on all local WestCAT routes (excluding trips on the local portion of the Lynx route).
WestCAT Lynx 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on all WestCAT routes, including the Lynx route.
East Bay Regional Local 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on all WestCAT (except Lynx), County Connection, Tri Delta Transit and Wheels local routes. County Connection riders can use cash value to pay an upgrade fee for adults and youth on express routes.
East Bay Regional Express 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days on all WestCAT (except Lynx), County Connection, Tri Delta Transit and Wheels local routes.

Clipper knows when to give you free and discounted rides when you transfer.

WestCAT local routes transferring to WestCAT: Free ride on a local route, or discounted ride on the Lynx transbay route, within 2 hours of first boarding WestCAT local bus. Free ride on a local route within 2 hours of boarding the Lynx route.
AC Transit transferring to WestCAT: Discounted ride on a local route within 2 hours of boarding AC Transit.
BART transferring to WestCAT: One discounted ride on a local route within 2 hours of exiting BART, followed by one additional free ride on other County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, and Wheels local and express routes and on WestCAT local routes within 2 hours of boarding first bus.
County Connection transferring to WestCAT: Free ride within 2 hours of boarding County Connection.
FAST transferring to WestCAT: Discounted ride on local route within 2 hours of boarding FAST.
Golden Gate Transit transferring to WestCAT: Discounted ride within 2 hours of tagging off an eligible Golden Gate Transit route.
SolTrans transferring to WestCAT: Discounted ride within 2 hours of boarding SolTrans.
Tri Delta Transit transferring to WestCAT: Free ride within 2 hours of boarding Tri Delta Transit.
Wheels transferring to WestCAT: Free ride within 2 hours of boarding Wheels.
